Protection Caps for Extreme Weather Conditions
Protection ceilings for PT/M26482 CONNECTORS have been introduced by ITT Interconnect Solutions. They can easily be installed in extreme weather conditions with gloves, making them suitable for military vehicles and communication equipment, and non-military applications such as off-road vehicles and electronics in locations.
The PT ribbed connector plugs, the Arctic coupling nut that is designed to handful gloved hands, and fourth spin lock with a click sound to verify that the secure environment. Ceilings agree with all the style connectors M26482 / lay-outs and are made for mounting on panel, nuts containers, and plug-variations. The range of sizes is enormous: the sizes 8 to 18 are available through the ITT distributors and sizes 20 to 24 on request. In addition, there are many length of the cable and fixing ring variations. Two finishes are available: olive drab cadmium or black / green, cobalt, zinc, says the company.

Tyco - High-performance slimline jack connector exceeds 1GHz performance
The new AMP-Twist 7AS SL connector, from the AMP Netconnect Business Unit of Tyco Electronics, combines ease of installation with a high-density SlimLine (SL) style, and has been designed to offer premium performance well above the Category 7A Class FA frequency limit of 1000MHz, says the company.
The new connector forms the latest technical evolution of the successful AMP-Twist connector technology, and provides 'excellent' shielding and screening performance together with optimised quadrant design to allow a connector performance tested up to 1500MHz on all pairs.
The high bandwidth offered by the new connector closes the gap between the connector performance and that of the best PiMF cable performance, resulting in a system operating frequency which is twice as high as the Category 7A frequency limit.
This extra system bandwidth means that the connector will function reliably in demanding applications such as CATV, with an upper frequency requirement of 862MHz, broadband video and high-speed data distribution. In addition, it offers Vicor

Termination can be carried out in under two minutes using Tyco Electronics AWC (automatic wire cutting) technique. Extremely high screening and shielding effectiveness results from the use of metal overlap technology. The connector features a spring-loaded 360 screen termination, along with integrated strain relief.
Installation is carried out using the AMP Netconnect SL termination tool incorporating PiMF foil stripping functionality. This tool carries out mass termination using automatic wire cutting, and simultaneously optimises the performance and the reproducibility of the termination process, says the company.
