Connectors for next-generation digital display interfaces

JAE - Tough connectors for next-generation digital display interfacesThe FI-XP serial connector, which is aimed at low-profile, including LVDS and Display Port interfaces, combined with a low level of improving the strength of the strong links with the end of LCDs, was introduced by JAE.

The insulation and metal shell optimized for high resistance, and removing the cable from rough treatment by equipment installers or end users. A mechanical lock prevents a pairing as a result of shocks and vibrations.

The FI-XP-down to board the vessel 30 posts, 1 mm high and a slight increase of 1 mm for ultra-low-profile displays. The cable of the ship at a height of 1.55mm also contributes to a thin line of interconnection, which designers to large interconnections between computer equipment and new flat screen monitors. The connections can be used with AWG # 14 and # 42 AWG coaxial cable or AWG # 32 and # 36 AWG wire discreet.

The connectors are lead-free and RoHS-compatible, with the signal dismissal with a nickel barrier solder long-term reliability. The operational temperature range of-40C to +85 C allows use in a wide range of consumer and professional circles.

The PCB footprint of the FI-XP container is the same as the current JAE FI-X connector. In addition, compatibility with the X-Fi cable to the adoption of the IF-XP stronger connections in product design. The FI-XP 150% more than the removal of the X-FI stamina, says the company.

Protection Caps for Extreme Weather Conditions

Protection Caps for Extreme Weather ConditionsProtection ceilings for PT/M26482 CONNECTORS have been introduced by ITT Interconnect Solutions. They can easily be installed in extreme weather conditions with gloves, making them suitable for military vehicles and communication equipment, and non-military applications such as off-road vehicles and electronics in locations.

The PT ribbed connector plugs, the Arctic coupling nut that is designed to handful gloved hands, and fourth spin lock with a click sound to verify that the secure environment. Ceilings agree with all the style connectors M26482 / lay-outs and are made for mounting on panel, nuts containers, and plug-variations. The range of sizes is enormous: the sizes 8 to 18 are available through the ITT distributors and sizes 20 to 24 on request. In addition, there are many length of the cable and fixing ring variations. Two finishes are available: olive drab cadmium or black / green, cobalt, zinc, says the company.

Space Saving DC-DC Switching Mode Regulator in Tiny Package from ACAL Technology

ASpace Saving DC-DC Switching Mode Regulator in Tiny Package from ACAL TechnologyA DC-DC uModule regulator point of load (POL) system with on-board inductor and power components is now offered by ACAL technology. The Linear Technology LTM8021 operates from input supplies 3V to 36V (40V maximum) and provides up to 500 mA.

The LTM8021 small footprint (6.25mm x 11.25mm), low-profile (2.8mm) and lightweight (0.49g), enable system designers to solder the device on the back of the circuit board, creating the room above digital circuits Such as FPGA's, memory and obligations, including HDMI, Ethernet or SMA connectors.

The LTM8021 includes a DC-DC controller IC, power switches, inductor, compensation circuitry and input and output bypass capacitors. The design is so simple as a linear regulator and has the advantage of less heat generation and smaller size. Target applications are systems with 5V, 12V, 24V and 28V rails supply of raw materials, such as medical, industrial, electronic and after-market car.

The LTM8021 regulates an output voltage of 0.8-5V, which is controlled by a single resistor. Encapsulated packaging protects the circuit components against mechanical, chemical and environmental factors, thus improving the reliability of the solution. The LTM8021 is rated for operation from-40C to 85c and is RoHS compliant, although the gold pads the use of leaded and lead-free solders during board, said the company.

Siemon - High performance network connectors for harsh environments

Siemon - High performance network connectors for harsh environments The fully-sealed, high performance Industrial MAX harsh environment connector system, for use in OEM applications in both standard and custom network interfaces, has been announced by Siemon.

The Industrial MAX connector, a waterproof-rated network connector designed for the rigours of harsh environments, is offered in configurations based on industry-standard connectivity encapsulated in a high-impact, chemical-resistant thermoplastic housing. Featuring both plug and outlet components with triple redundant sealing, the housing is immune to dust, temporary immersion, vibration, and temperature extremes. The connector housing employs Siemon's proven, tri-pin bayonet Industrial MAX network connector interface, which has been widely accepted and utilized by end users in the harsh-environment market since 2002.

Siemon's Industrial MAX solution is the first industrial network connector interface to become standardized by ISO/IEC and ODVA (Open DeviceNet Vendor Association). Now, the Industrial MAX solution is offered in various common connector interfaces, including PCB mount versions, says the company.

Molex - Extra rugged sealed circular connectors for industrial applications

Molex - Extra rugged sealed circular connectors for industrial applicationsA new line of sealed circular connectors has been launched by Molex. The XRC (Extra Rugged Circular) sealed plugs and receptacles have been developed to meet the demanding requirements of the heavy-equipment industry. With a standard 18 size shell, the rugged, circular connectors are ideal for heavy-duty applications such as trucks, buses and agricultural markets.

Designed to meet IP67 standards, XRC plugs and receptacles protect against the ingress of dust, water and other contaminants to maintain the integrity of the mated pair. The plugs feature a quick-disconnect bayonet latch to provide quick and easy connections with reduced installation and service time while ensuring accurate mating depth.

"Through extensive research and product testing, we designed the XRC line to meet our customers' needs," said Bill Mahony, product manager of the Automation & Electrical Products Division of Molex. "Never before has Molex offered such an economical, rugged, sealed, circular connector."

The XRC features a grommet retainer with a lip for compatibility with back shell and over-moulded applications. A large polarising key indicator aids in visual alignment to facilitate easier mating. The simple crimp-and-poke technology does not require terminal alignment when installing crimped wires, while enlarged imprinting on the wire seals clearly identifies each circuit, making installation and field servicing fast and easy.

For maximum design flexibility, XRC plugs and receptacles are available in standard and reverse gender. These connectors can be used for in-line or panel-mount applications. Additional circuits and shell sizes will be released over the coming months to expand the XRC product offering, says the company.

Tyco - High-performance slimline jack connector exceeds 1GHz performance

Tyco - High-performance slimline jack connector exceeds 1GHz performance The new AMP-Twist 7AS SL connector, from the AMP Netconnect Business Unit of Tyco Electronics, combines ease of installation with a high-density SlimLine (SL) style, and has been designed to offer premium performance well above the Category 7A Class FA frequency limit of 1000MHz, says the company.

The new connector forms the latest technical evolution of the successful AMP-Twist connector technology, and provides 'excellent' shielding and screening performance together with optimised quadrant design to allow a connector performance tested up to 1500MHz on all pairs.

The high bandwidth offered by the new connector closes the gap between the connector performance and that of the best PiMF cable performance, resulting in a system operating frequency which is twice as high as the Category 7A frequency limit.

This extra system bandwidth means that the connector will function reliably in demanding applications such as CATV, with an upper frequency requirement of 862MHz, broadband video and high-speed data distribution. In addition, it offers Vicor

Termination can be carried out in under two minutes using Tyco Electronics AWC (automatic wire cutting) technique. Extremely high screening and shielding effectiveness results from the use of metal overlap technology. The connector features a spring-loaded 360 screen termination, along with integrated strain relief.

Installation is carried out using the AMP Netconnect SL termination tool incorporating PiMF foil stripping functionality. This tool carries out mass termination using automatic wire cutting, and simultaneously optimises the performance and the reproducibility of the termination process, says the company.
